In 1999, after leaving obscure goth band Grace of god, Corne started writing new material
for his next project. This project remained nameless for 4 years, during which time tracks like Destroyed Disillusionment, Sombre Joys,Tragic etc were written, as well as the never released Closing Dead Eyes.
All by chance William,a friend from South Africa made contact and slowly and gradually, a thought was planted to start a band and use the tracks written all ready.
An initial issue was that William at this point did not play guitar and so this hurdle had to be overcome first.
But like with most things, this was also a rushed affair. Not long after Nic expressed his willingness to step in as the bass part of this project.
Thus Undying Legacy was given birth to in 2003.
A few practise sessions in and the very first gig in Brighton was arranged. Stage jitters put aside this went fairly well and new material was being written continuously.
A 3 track demo was recorded which has been played in clubs all over the world featuring Tragic, Call for Silence and Dance of The Dead.
Several gigs later and Undying Legacy from nowhere got to play in New York at the Drop Dead 2 Festival. This being a major event for the band, they started recording Tales of the Newly Bereaved with the idea of flaunting this at DD2.
Sadly this album was only completed a few days after the event, none the less this gig , which could have propelled the band further did little to do that, and was in essence the beginning of the end.
After insisting another guitarist be introduced to the line up to compensate for the lacklustre performance and skill of the current guitarist, and have this idea rejected by both Nic and William, Corne decided that the necessary commitment was
just not there that would be needed to take Undying Legacy to the next level.
The final gig was played in November 2004 when Corne decided to leave the band due to this very issue.
Undying Legacy then reshuffled themselves a few times.Nic took on vocals duties, Jett was introduced to the bass and William stayed on guitar.
They quickly recorded The Eye EP in 2005 , which did not seem to be too well recieved.
Playing only one more gig , a year later, at DD3 was an almost embarrassing experience for the line up which really should have played more gigs before braving a big stage again.
None the less William was booted from the band, Marloes was added on guitars and then Undying Legacy fell apart...
Nic formed various new projects after that.
Corne has formed one new project with a release out soon called The Dead Society.
